These advanced modules build on basic gender concepts to help develop of a robust and nuanced understanding of gender in development, why gender equality and women's empowerment matters, and how to target and strategize for it in development initiatives.

These modules are available in English, Spanish, and French

 

What resources do you need to do it?

Internet connection and a free UN Women Learning Centre account

The latest pdf adobe version and flash version is needed in order to view the course. Please note that the course will open in a separate pop-up window, therefore please ensure that pop-up blockers are de-activated. The participant will need set of headphones or speakers as the course includes audio throughout the entire course.

UN Women's "I Know Gender" series is for anyone interested to learn about gender issues, particularly regarding development policy. The modules are as follows:

Each course lasts approximately 50 minutes.

In order to take these more advanced modules, you will first have to complete the free 2.5-hour course I Know Gender 1-2-3: Gender Concepts to Get Started.
